Ivano and I go as guests of Maria …maria calara works for the Five start movement, which is a new political party in sicily started by the comic artist Grillo… and it is full of young enthusiastic women and men… the have an office in this place which also acts like the administrative office for the state
The room where the legislators sit is the Hercules
room, and it has these amazing paintings in black and white which looks like stone sculptures.
But what is truly amazing is the cathedral…The palace contains the Cappella Palatina, by far the best example of the so-called Arab-Norman–Byzantine style that prevailed in the 12th-century Sicily. The wonderful mosaics, the wooden roof, elaborately fretted and painted, and the marble incrustation of the lower part of the walls and the floor are very fine. An expert explains why this church is truely multi religious in that it has designs and paintings from arab, to muslim, topre christian and christian times.

We also visit some of the royal rooms… the chinese and some others
and then we go to the royal gardens and the double tree… growing together…
there is ooo much beauty all around… could spend a year here and still discover something..
