Roaming around… the beach..colom..la ramblas

Outdoor cafe…no idea where…just got onto a bus…. no bus maps..Everyone says go by metro… but am enjoying the local buses… no tourists.. so I pointed on the metro map and said I’m heading here…after much discussion a woman said follow me… and she showed me where to catch a bus to where I have to go… there was much laughter as we tried to figure out each other….

Coffee.. amazing aroma and strong with croissant sitting outside cafe…

There are amazing statutes all around .. am at plaza de Catalonia…a woman thinker in the midst of a lake… lovely…

Begging here too… busy on his cell phone ..asking for small change ” for me and my dog..:

You see a lot of differently abled people on the roads… this one is on an electric wheel chair…

The streets around are of these old buildings .. they are narrow but what is amazing is that each building is designed a little different… the verandas the sculptures on the entrance… so much atmosphere.

Had got all excited took my swimsuit and went to the beach…. have never seen such crowds … can barely walk… water is clear but cold… no way I’m going in….

The landscape is always different… the curved building at the back looks like a whale … the building block the lifeguards..

What an interesting city….

On the bus back… the micro sculpture…At the Las ramblas the port with thousands literally thousands of private sail boats. And on the port …a fabricator … in case you heart stops at this amazing square…

In the square there are these circles and as you move around it gives a different frame to the environment around…

The colom

The Columbus Monument is a 60 m (197 ft) tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) in honour to Columbus first voyage to the Americas. The monument serves as a reminder that Christopher Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V in Barcelona after his first trip to the new continent.

There are horse driven carriages around… wonder why the hell they were stopped in mumbai!!!

In the evening meet up with sasha and sachin who by chance is here with their freinds for drinks and dinner.

We go to this special fish place where you choose your fish.. it is weighed cooked the way you want ..grilled or fried ..

The lonater moves its claws at me .. i scream and run out while the sweet girl behind the counter has a big laugh. I tell her to give me her favourite… lots of going in and out checking with sachin who does not want to even look at these wiggling things…her favourite has a bone… we ask her if the bone can be removed…

Noooo she says.. one bone …easy

No..no want bone… u go ask cook

She has never heard of something so ridiculous in her short life…. but she goes

Yes ..okay.. we all happy…and we have sangria and grilled fish and fries…

Its stays light till almost 10 here…exhausting walking around..
