The 968 kms is covered in 28 hours and was pleasantly surprised…. The coaches bathrooms were clean and every couple of hours, a worker came in uniform and put disinfectant on the floor, swabbed and removed the garbage.
Food, every few hours making the time fly fast. On departure, cold limbo pani (lemon water) , then tea and sandwich , kachori, a sweet and juice; then dinner , next day tea, then breakfast, then lunch then tea again. And in clean trays and far better than airlines food!!!!
And 2 clean whited ironed bedsheets, khadi……. If all railways, schools, were made to wear khadi, let it crease, let them not be ironed….. it would revive the fantastic tradition of spinning, I had an experience doing just that at the Gandhi ashram in Ahmedabad. Read about that here………………
It’s a great meditation whilst producing something. Something that gandhiji had right.
I now only travel 2nd ac , as a senior citizen woman I get 50 percent discount. Yeheheh.
But after a while, I find sitting in ac uncomfortable, and unfortunately one cannot see out of the windows clearly…. So open the door, stand in the wind, wave at some kids, watch life swish by.
But, these trains should have one place where one can be out of ac, a coffee shop where one can smoke,,,,wouldn’t that be lovely.
And the boys working there are sweet…. They have seen me put down their bed, open the door, and have a ciggy…..2 guys come out to smoke too, smile at me and .. I guess having white hair helps!!!
1968 km passed away fast, talk to neighbours, theres a young guy in our 4 seats… I promptly give him my computer and he fixes all the problems ive had that day…
Train stops at hardly 4 to 5 stations… no one can enter…. So no beggars, people selling wada pao…
